MEZ Kick-off Meeting on June 2nd 2015

The research project “Multilingual Development: A Longitudinal Perspective (MEZ)” was introduced to the public at a kick-off meeting, held in Hamburg on June 2nd 2015. After a short word of welcome by Jörg Doll, research adviser at the Faculty of Education, the research objective and the planned implementation of the project were presented by Ingrid Gogolin, Thorsten Klinger and Marina Trebbels. The Principal Investigators Christoph Gabriel, Michel Knigge, Marion Krause and Peter Siemund held a presentation on the specific characteristics and conditions of multilingual development. Svenja Bundt and Jens Gomolka, who were representing the project partner IEA DPC, provided insight into the project-specific data acquisition procedure. Following these presentations, the invited guests from the fields of politics, science, research and practice took the opportunity to ask further questions and to discuss diverse aspects with the MEZ-Team. The meeting was closed with a toast to the official start of the project.
